Canoe Wales has been working with the Welsh
Sports Association’s Commercial (WSA) unit to look at improving the benefits
that are available to the Members and affiliated Clubs of Canoe Wales. Work in
this area will continue and Canoe Wales hopes to bring you news about progress on a
regular basis.
Each year, sports clubs in Wales
collectively spend millions on goods and services.
The WSA has liaised with a number of
companies over the last few months with a view to encouraging them to
provide goods and services to National Governing Body Affiliated Clubs at a
discount, thus enhancing the membership benefits to those clubs.
The WSA has produced a list of companies
that will provide discounts on their products and services to Affiliated
Clubs. This list is known as the WSA Club Preferred Suppliers List.
The list has been compiled by David Cotton
from the WSA's Commercial Unit, who wishes to convey the following message:
"Providing discounts on anything from sports
wear to marquee hire, the WSA Club Preferred Suppliers List enables sports
clubs and their members to save money on their core sporting and fundraising
activities. The List currently contains offers covering, sports equipment,
trophies, sports medicine, sportswear, stationery, printing, marquee hire,
event entertainments, musicians and on other event infrastructure. An
equivalent list for the governing bodies has already enabled thousands to be
saved. Now it's the opportunity for clubs to benefit from an extended
selection of offers. This List represents a range of club benefits
unparalleled throughout the UK."
The WSA will continue to increase the
number, range and variety of companies that provide discounts via the
Preferred Suppliers List over time.
