28 / 29 May - Welsh Surf Kayak Team Trials 2005 Aberystwyth Surf Competition

The top placed Welsh paddlers will be offered a place on the team for the forthcoming world championships in Costa Rica . It will be a national ranking competition so you will have an excellent opportunity to compete against English competitors as well as your fellow countrymen.

Freestyle

The Sunday freestyle league –

As part of our junior development programme the WCA is to launch a Junior Freestyle development series. We have planned a sequence of weekends, the second weekend of each month between May and October, which will be based at Canolfan Tryweryn and open to any junior paddlers 18 and under and who are comfortable on grade 2-3 moving water. The first event will happen on 7-8th May 2005 . The Saturday’s will be spent looking at developing your skills as a paddler with the Sunday’s devoted to fun competitions – down river boater-X, extreme slalom and freestyle competitions on different river features etc. Coaching for these events will be free to access, the only cost being the daily facility fee of £ 7.00. In order to take part participants must register in advance and complete a parental consent form. -

Before attending a BCU Coaching Course, Level 1 and above, you must preregister by completing a C1 form and sending it, with evidence of the relevant prerequisites, to the office of the canoeing association of which you are member for authorisation.
